Preparing Your Manuscript
Please follow the instructions below to prepare your manuscript.
- Please use the JA paper template (link) to submit your research article. The article, including all references, should not exceed 5000 words.
- Follow all the template directions for formatting, word count, figures, tables, and references.
- Be sure to provide all requested information, including disclosure of funding sources and ethics committee approval.
- Ensure you have the correct spelling of authors’ names and their affiliations for the article metadata. Include department, institution, city, state, and country, but exclude street addresses and postal codes.
- Papers will be returned to authors who fail to use the appropriate template or improper referencing. Authors will have an opportunity to correct their manuscripts.
Submitting Your Manuscript
Submit your manuscript in both MS Word and PDF format with author name(s), affiliations, and contact emails. The file size should preferably be within 20 MB. For the PDF format, exclude author credentials, acknowledgments, and any funding information. All submissions should be sent to journalarch.buet@gmail.com.
The Peer Review Process
The Journal of Architecture (JA) uses a double-masked peer review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. After submission, the following steps occur:
- Initial review to check the scope, scientific quality, formatting, and plagiarism.
- Papers outside the scope or that don’t meet standards are rejected.
- Papers with formatting or referencing issues are returned for correction.
- Papers containing plagiarism are rejected.
- Papers that pass the initial review are sent for peer review. Two expert peer reviewers are assigned, and a statistical review is performed if necessary.
- Authors are notified of the peer review results, which can be one of the following:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with minor/major revisions
- Rejected with reasons provided
- Authors have four weeks to revise their manuscripts. If an extension is needed, contact journalarch.buet@gmail.com.
- The Chief Editor reviews revised manuscripts to ensure corrections are incorporated. The decision may be acceptance, further revision, or rejection.
- Once accepted, papers are copyedited, and proofs are sent to authors for approval. Authors will receive an email notification of publication.
